One of the TIGON project's demo sites – CIEMAT facility in Soria, Spain – has held a site visit and talk on the MV/DC-based grids linked to energy storage systems and which provides stability to a LV hybrid grid
This visit is part of various on-site events to showcase the project’s endeavours to develop a comprehensive solution for DC hybrid grids, including pushing up technology readiness levels in key microgrid components. The overall aim is to enable a high share of DC-based distributed energy resources.
The visit at the Spanish demo site featured a presentation on the impacts of the solutions demonstrated along with the related business, environmental and regulatory aspects.
The TIGON demonstrations are ongoing, with results still emerging. You can learn more about the demonstrations and also the project’s two replication cases here. The resources page offers more indepth information about the project’s the eight hardware and software components and includes a number of technical publications. It has been a busy time for us at Tigon, and we have more to share in the coming days: the insights and recording from a recent webinar about our replication site in Bulgaria, and insights from a physical showcase in Finland that took place a couple of weeks ago. So stay tuned.
