Best Paper Award goes to solid-state transformer review by TIGON and SSTAR projects

The paper - Solid-state transformers: A Critical Review of Projects with Relevant Prototypes and Demonstrators - has won the Best Paper Award

The paper was recognised for its indepth analysis about solid-state transformer (SST) technology. It draws on the work undertaken by the EU-funded projects TIGON and SSTAR.

SSTs are set to play a pivotal role as in hybrid microgrids as they allow better grid control in terms of voltage regulation, power flow, harmonics reduction and more. This improves overall reliability  and power quality of the grid.

The paper is available in here in the resources section of the TIGON website where other technical papers can be found.
