Solid-state transformer installed at Spanish demo site

All eyes are now on our demo sites as they are about put the innovative microgrids to the test

January ends with an important milestone in one of the demonstration centres of the TIGON project: the solid state transformer (SST) equipment has been installed in the CEDER-CIEMAT facilities and its associated protection cabinet, the aim of which is to create a 3 kV direct current network from a low voltage alternating current network.

Over the next few weeks, the local team will continue to get ready for demonstration with further equipment to be installed to complete the DC-based hybrid microgrid.
